The Buy Local campaign coordinated by Kathy Norris was, by any measure, a great success.
At least 80 people showed in Calpine at the Sierra Valley Lodge last night to play poker the hard way: with hundreds of cards.
Folks gathered in the lodge’s east dining room and Lee Adams, known locally for his judgment and sense of fair play, officiated the poker play offs.
The effort was supported by local businesses and by The Sierra Booster, The Mountain Messenger, and the other county news media.
