Don grew up in Massachusetts and Connecticut and proudly served on the U.S.S. Ranger in the United States Navy. After discharge he worked for Perkins and Elmer in Connecticut as an electronics specialist. Sent to Taiwan for the company, Don met and married Silver in 1964. They have two daughters, Vicki Mueller and Carol Lobrano and two grandchildren Devin and Lian and one great-grandchild, Amber.
Later Don worked for Pacific Telephone for 14 years until moving to Mariposa County where he worked for Sierra Telephone in Oakhurst for 22 years. He was a fisherman and volunteered with Fish & Game to maintain a healthy environment for wildlife. Together, he and Silver built their home in Midpines.
Don was a fervent Republican and debated ferociously with his sister Liz, a fervent Democrat. Don had a website devoted to his view of what America should be.
Don will be dearly missed by family and sisters Liz Fisher of Downieville and Carla Morris of Nova Scotia, cousin Ray Glazier of Connecticut and friends, and co-workers.
