“Sierra County celebrates healthy happy children!

Every April, families and individuals nationwide acknowledge child abuse prevention month.  Congress decrees it as such; the State Assembly passes a proclamation; and the Sierra County Board of Supervisors issues a resolution annually.  Locally, the staff and Board of Directors of Sierra County Child Abuse Council hosted an Open House at High Sierra’s Family Services Family Resource Center located at 315 Main Street in Loyalton on April 10th from 1 to 5 pm.  During the Open House, they had on display children’s art work.  During the month, they will continue the regularly scheduled cooking classes, parenting classes, meetings, and generally be available to anyone having questions or concerns regarding our greatest asset as a community:  our children.  It only takes a minute to brighten a child’s life; praise and encouragement build them into productive members of society.  For more information, call the staff at High Sierra’s Family Services FRC:  993-1110.”
